Clothes
The temperature can vary a lot in January, and we recommend that you check Yr.no for an updated weather forecast as the race approaches. Dress warmly if freezing temperatures are forecast, and be prepared for the weather to change within a few hours.
Recommended shoes
Every year, the discussion rages when runners pick up their start numbers – should they run with spiked or non-spiked shoes? Follow us on social media for updates on trail conditions the week before the race and on race day.
Ice:
The most challenging conditions, and if it is hot and icy, we recommend running with shoes with spikes or studs.
Dry snow:
Great conditions. Trail shoes work very well, otherwise running shoes with good grip work.
Dry asphalt:
It happened in 2019! A good choice is trail shoes, such as the Mizuno Wave Mujin 10 with a rough sole.
