Saturday, May 30th is the premiere of the Tromsø Relay!
After many requests, we are finally ready to organize the Tromsø Relay!
On Saturday, May 30th, we invite you to a new folk festival in the center of Tromsø. Hopefully in bright sunshine, where community, atmosphere and joy are in focus. Here it is as much about having fun together as it is about running fast.
Each stage consists of eight exciting and challenging stages, with different surfaces, lengths and gradients.
Bring your family, friends, sports team or colleagues and experience the special relay feeling together. With several different classes, there is room for everyone – regardless of pace. You will not regret this, we dare to guarantee that already now. And if you do not have the opportunity to participate yourself, we encourage you to come and cheer on all the fantastic teams – and to create a good atmosphere along the course!
The biggest running event of the summer, the Midnight Sun Marathon, is three weeks away. Maybe this could be a great way to test your fitness for the day – or is it precisely this evening that the interest in running grows into something bigger…?

The trail

The stages
1. SNN stage

Length: 860 meters
The Tromsø relay race starts on Stortorget , and go south along Storgata all the way to Fiskergata. There you turn right, at first a slight incline before it bends upwards to Mellomvegen. The last few meters of the stage follow Mellomvegen south to Strimmelen (between Musegata and John Savios gate).

2. LEVEL – the stage

Length: 920 meters
From Strimmelen you continue running south along Mellomvegen. After a flat start you get a slight uphill after 300 meters. Change at Hvilhaug, just before the Mellomvegen/Bjørnøygata intersection.

3. Professional printing idea – the stage

Length: 1,120 meters
The relay continues south along Mellomvegen. After just over 900 meters, turn right onto Lars Thøringsveg. The changeover will be at Tromsø Museum.

4. MSM – the stage
Length: 1,010 meters
After three stages on the asphalt we will enter Folkeparken, and enjoy the peace of the forest for a few hundred meters. You follow the path that comes out at the intersection of Vesterlivegen/Nordpolvegen, and follow the latter towards Fagereng. Change after passing L Seppalas veg.

5. Trimtex – the stage
Length: 1,490 meters

Another stage with a slightly looser surface under your shoes. From Fagereng you follow the light trail north. The nature experiences are in line as you run past Vangberg and Bak-Olsen. However, at Holtvegen the real action begins. The toughest stretch of the relay awaits those who run this stage, and the change at the top will probably be a relief for most.

6. Elverhøy stage
Length: 960 meters
The stage starts at the Holtevegen/Senjavegen intersection, and follows Barduvegen in a southerly direction. At the end of Barduvegen you come to a short gravel path before entering Senjavegen. Follow this to Fagerligvegen, and then to Røstbakktoppen. A flat and nice stage in very beautiful surroundings.

7. Voice Hill!
Length: 850 meters
From Røstbakktoppen you run east towards Mellomvegen. You run one of Tromsø's steepest slopes, but downhill. (Here it is important to have control of your legs) Turn left and follow Mellomvegen to Strimmelen.

8. The Neumann stage
Length: 860 meters

The Sjarmøre stage follows the same route as the first, but of course in the opposite direction. A nice first part of the stage with a slight downhill slope before you turn right down Fiskergata and get to slightly steeper terrain. In Storgata you turn left, and run the long run "home" to Stortorget .
