Tromsø Backyard Ultra

Finally we are ready for Tromsø Backyard Ultra!

Midnight Sun Marathon and TUIL invite you to Tromsø Backyard Ultra – an ultra race with slightly different premises than you are used to.

What is Backyard Ultra?

Backyard Ultra has been on a winning streak since the concept was launched in 2011, and in recent years it has become very popular, just as Ultra running has increased in popularity.

In a Backyard Ultra, you run 6.7 km – every hour. If you don't make it to the start, which is every hour – you're out.

Implementation

• Tromsø Backyard Ultra will be held as a 12-hour race, and the first runner to finish in the final lap will be the winner.
• All runners must meet for a joint information meeting at 07:45. The race starts at 08:00, and everyone must be in place by then.
• Awards for 1st – 3rd place in each class. In addition, there will be participant medals and some bonus prizes.

Practical

• The start and finish will be at TUIL Arena, and the football hall will function as a lounge area during the race. There will also be toilets and showers.
• The organizers will provide bread/sandwiches and fruit. In addition, hot food will be served at 3:30 PM.
• Drink station in the start/finish area with Explo, Maxim sports drinks, water, coffee and mineral water.
