Traffic regulations Midnight Sun Marathon
2025
Midnight Sun Marathon is the year's big running party in Tromsø with five different street races, and this involves traffic regulations. New for 2025 is that the start is moved from Grønnegata to Prostneset Grønnegata and Vestregata are not affected by MSM.
We hope for your understanding that some streets will be closed to general traffic and ask everyone to respect the instructions of the trail guards. We apologize if the race causes inconvenience to some people.
Availability
Parking spaces for HC in the lower part of the city center will be unavailable in the afternoon and during the race. Grønnegata will not be affected by the race this year
It will be possible to use HC parking in the parking tunnel with entry from Grønnegata as well as temporary spaces in front of Grønnegata 35 (Way Nor). These are in the immediate vicinity of the finish area.

Public transport and taxi
Some bus routes will be cancelled and stops in the city center will be moved. Bus routes will move their stops to Vestregata after 2:00 PM.

The taxi ranks at Nerstranda and Torghuken will not be operational in the evening and will be replaced by temporary stands in Grønnegata and Rådhusgata.
During Midnight Sun Marathon , there is a need to close some parts of the race route for ordinary traffic, and there are a number of residential areas that may have to expect delays for in/out traffic during the race. There will also be a number of regulated intersections and closed roads. Closures and regulations are made in collaboration with the police and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, and are made for the safety of the participants.
