Note: Your class is calculated after your year of birth, not date of birth. If you turn 18 years the year the race is held, you can compete.
Registered, but can’t compete?
Your registration is personal and binding. By registering for the race you accept our terms & conditions, and we do not refund nor change names on fulfilled registrations. Runners who participate with someone else’s startnumber will be disqualified.
Until 21 days before race day you can transfer your registration to the next year. After this, you can only transfer your registration due to injury/illness. Send us an email (info@msm.no) together with a medical certificate from your doctor/physician stating that you are unable to attend. (NB! We charge a fee of 100,- NOK to move your registration)

On race day
Cut off times
Ultra 50K: Max time limit by checkpoint Tromsdalselva (32km) is 5 1/2h (14:30). If you use longer time you will have to finish your race here, and continue directly to the finish area by the TUIL Arena in Tromsdalen valley and report to a race marshall. The total maximum time for the Ultra 50K is 9h.
TMC HalfUltra 25K: 6h
TMC Tindløpet: 3h
Transport til start
Ultra 50K: We set up a bus from the TUIL Arena, which leaves at 07:45 in the morning for Snarbyeidet (start point). You can leave your luggage at TUIL Arena (at your own responsibility) or even take it with you to the start. Luggage left at the buss will be transported back to the finish area. Please note that we take no responsibility for your belongings/luggage.
TMC HalfUltra 25K: The start is at the TUIL Arena in Tromsdalen valley, there is free parking places here. If you come by bus from the city center, take bus nr 24 Kroken or 20 Kroken and go off at the stop “Båthavna” (boat harbour). Follow the road along the river and up to the Arena, it takes approximately 10-12 min to walk.
Andre distanser: The start is at TUIL Arena in Tromsdalen.
Compulsory equipment
During Ultra 50km and the TMC HalfUltra 25km the runners are required to bring a backpack. As the required content is considered an emergency kit, all items in the backpack must be inside the backpack (not worn) when you cross the finish line.
Required content of race backpack
- T-shirt (must be in your backpack when you cross the finish line)
- Map (provided by the organizer)
- Compass or handheld GPS or Smartwatch with GPX track downloaded
- Food (minimum 150g food left in your backpack when you cross the finish line)
- Windbreaker jacket
- Windbreaker pants
- Hat
- Gloves
- Whistle (to call for attention if you are in need of help)
- Cellphone
- Water bottle
- Warming blanket/foil (provided by organizer, applies only to the 50K race)
Please note:
The equipment of the backpack is considered emergency gear, as the weather and conditions can get challenging up in the mountains during the race. All runners participate at their own risk, and must ensure they have enough food, Liquids and dry clothes to take care of themselves in a possible emergency. This is why the items in the content list above have to be inside the backpack when you finish the race. We also remind you that you are required to help other runners in need during the race.
Ultra 50km: Organizers give all participants a warming blanket/foil and a map of the race course. The rest of the required content the participants have to bring themselves. The backpack can be checked by race marshalls when you cross the finish line. There is 15min addition time per item that is missing from the list of required content.
HalfUltra 25km:Participants in the HalfUltra 25km trail must have the same content in the backpack as the Ultra 50km, but will only receive a map from the organizers. The participants themselves are responsible for bringing the required content in their backpack. The warming blanket/foil is not a required content of the backpack for the 25K race.
The participants cannot receive any other support during the race than from the service stations along the trail. Apart from this you can only use what you bring in Your backpack. It is not allowed to have accompanying runners from outside the race.

Explo Extreme Race: Service station at the finish line, next to the cable car & restaurant “Fjellstua”. We serve water and Explo.
Ultra 50K:. There are many rivers that provide you with water during the first part of the race. There are service stations at

TMC HalfUltra 25K: There are service stations at

- Fjellheisen (water, Maxim sports drink, Maxim Energi Gel, banana)
- Svarthammeren (water, Maxim sports drink, Maxim Energi Gel,Cola )
TMC Tindløpet: There are drinking stations at Tromsdalselva and Salen where we serve water and Maxim sports drink. There is no service at the finish line, on top of the mountain. Check the list of required content of your backpack.
Explo Extreme Race: Service station at the finish line, next to the cable car “Fjellheisen”.
Prizes
Explo Extreme Race:
All the participants who finish the race will receive a medal. We award the top three men and women. In addition, we draw a number of prizes by start number. New course record for men and women is awarded with NOK 1000,- each.
The male course record is 15:52 (Eirik Haugsnes 2016) and in 2023 will have kr. 5000,- prize money. The course record for females is 17:23 (Yngvild Kaspersen 2015) and in 2023 will have kr. 6000,- prize money.
The prize ceremony is at TUIL Arena at 18:30pm.
TMC Ultra 50K/ TMC HalfUltra 25K:
We award all finishers with a medal. In addition to this we also award the three best men and women in Ultra 50K and TMC HalfUltra 25K.
The prize ceremony is at the start line (TUIL Arena) after all podium places have come to the finish line.
TMC Tindløpet:
We award all finishers with a medal. In addition to this we also award the top three best men and women.
The prize ceremony and finishers medals is at the start line (TUIL Arena) around 4pm.
TMC Triple:
We award all finishers with a medal. The top three best men and women who finishes the full TMC Triple will be awarded. The prize ceremony is at the TUIL Arena at the same time as the prize ceremony for Tindløp.
After race day
Photos
We have a photographer working for us during the race and these photos will be published on our Facebook-page a few days after the race. Please note that we do not guarantee that we have a photo of each runner, as the photographer will take photos from both the course and at the finishline.
